General Responsibilities:

Position involves leading, coordinating and completing bridge replacement and rehabilitation design projects of various sizes and complexities. The qualified candidate will be required to provide guidance and direction to junior engineers and CADD Technicians while preparing preliminary and final bridge construction drawings, reports, specifications, and estimates. Additional duties include managing public and private client relationships and assisting with project management tasks. Candidates will be responsible for the Coordination of bridge tasks with traffic and highway staff on highway and bridge projects, along with the coordination of bridge design elements with site designers. Candidate will lead the development of bridge, retaining wall, culverts and other structural design elements.

 

 

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a minimum 10 years of PennDOT work experience in Bridge Engineering and be a Registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. A MSCE degree, PennDOT Bridge Inspection Certification, and experience on NJDOT and City of Philadelphia projects are all preferred. Candidates should have knowledge and experience with the following: PennDOT Design Manuals, Standards, Software and Specifications as well as ASSHTO LRFD and Standard Specifications; structural analysis software such as STADD; AutoCAD and/or Microstation. Candidates must possess integrity and high ethical engineering standards.
